Procedure:

In each package, please include a copy of the application form and a sample of writing in standard manuscript format, of less than 5,000 words.  This may be a self-contained story or an excerpt from a longer work.  If it’s a novel excerpt, please include a short (2-3 page) outline of the entire work.

IN ADDITION TO THE APPLICATION, PLEASE INCLUDE A COPY OF YOUR COVID VACCINATION CERTIFICATE, OR A DOCTOR’S STATEMENT EXPLAINING WHY YOU CANNOT BE VACCINATED.   

In the package to Walter Jon Williams, please include a check made out to ARISTOI LLC for the $50 non-refundable application fee.  (We also accept PayPal: email for instructions to wjw@taostoolbox.com.)

Tuition

The cost for tuition and lodging is $4200, payable within 30 days of acceptance into the workshop..

All applications must be received by 1 April 2024.

Refunds:

No refunds are possible after MAY 1st.

Terran Award

The Terran Award, given by George R.R. Martin, will be given annually to one applicant from a nation where English is not the primary language.  The award will cover tuition and fees, but not travel or meals.  If you wish to apply for the award, please indicate this in an appendix to your application.  Applications, submissions, and sample fiction must be in English.

Scholarships

At present, a small amount of scholarship money is available to offset tuition costs.  If you are interested in this scholarship, please describe your need and situation in an appendix to your application.

College Credit
We will do our best to cooperate, but you will have to arrange this with your university.
